Matalan Amanda Set

My love affair with Matalan is still ongoing, as is my infatuation with tropical prints. I'm also partial to pink lingerie so this was an instant winner for me. This whole set cost £14 which meant i was throwing it into my online basket before rational thought kicked in, so lets say it was an instinctual purchase.
Excuse my awkward tan lines. My skin really does tan in unfortunate patches and remain pale everywhere else.
I chose to buy the bra in a 32A for £10, as my normal size is rarely stocked anywhere in the UK and with the knowledge that Matalan bras and moulded cup swimwear often run small. However i would say this bra is true to size, being a tad large for me. This isn't a problem since i've got at least 6 years of wearing a size 32A under my belt and still own an awful lot in my personal lingerie arsenal. 
Described as a plunge bra, this has a fair amount of padding for a bit more uplift, as i realised when my nipples tried to make a break for it.

The knickers were £4 and are in a size 8. I'm not going to lie, i've got a little bit of excess fabric pooling around my bum/crotch so i'd definitely suggest sizing down if you can. I quite like comfy undies that i can lounge around in without feeling restricted so yet again not a problem. I'm actually very impressed with the construction of these. Although the lace is cheap i'm loving the shape of the opaque fabric and how it meets the lace in a non uniform, triangular way. 
These knickers are full bum however there's also a matching thong available.

As with all lingerie, you get what you pay for and whilst Matalan always makes lovely garments, these are made out of synthetic materials, despite the "satin" claim. However the knickers have a 100% cotton gusset which i consider to be a nice touch, one often overlooked by highstreet retailers.

Overall this set is nicely finished, utterly cutesy and a winner for me.

What Lamb's Wearing Wednesday


It's been really sunny here recently, albeit cold and windy, so i like to wear outfits that can be layered under multiple jumpers and a big coat.

I haphazardly threw on some comfortable Topshop knickers which ruled out any tight skirts so i went with a skater skirt over the top.
I hadn't worn this Bralet/crop top for a while so rather than go braless like i'd usually do, i put on one of my Matalan Bras which gives me impressive cleavage to add a bit of oomf.
Not pictured is the knee high socks i layered over 20 dernier tights to keep me warm.

Save Up Sunday


1. "Marika Vera "Audrey Horne" - £217"
David Lynch is a bit of a hero of mine and Audrey Horne (Twin Peaks babe) is, well, my icon in a lot of ways. I've been obsessing over Marika Vera's line based on Lynch's women for months now (there are many Instagram and twitter posts to illustrate this) but nothing captures my fancy quite like this blouse inspired by his Agent seducing, bad girl Audrey. It's sheer, has a deep plunge, a cutout collar and most definitely would not look out of place at One Eyed Jacks.

2. "Mel Stringer "Cute Butt Club" Stickers - £6.24"
There are now individual cute butt club stickers. I'm seriously tempted to buy a few packs of these and mail them to all my fellow lingerie enthusiasts because they have cute butts and we should have a club, with stickers.

3. "Montabahn "Mermaid" Pasties - £37.04"
Now i have a confession, i just don't get decorative pasties. Sure they have a purpose if you're a burlesque dancer or in the adult industry but i don't think they'll ever have a place in my collection. However, that being said, who didn't want to be in the Little Mermaid (The PC Disney version, Grimm's original used to terrify me) when they were a kid? But alas, unless i wanted to make an attempt to become tumblr famous (because this seems like the kind of thing they'd eat up on there) my mermaid dreams are not worth shelling out for.

4. "Ohhlulu "Flora" Set - £60.61"
This set is top of my birthday wishlist but i have a feeling my mother hasn't taken the hint, as i haven't been asked for any measurements. I just adore this set, there's something delicate and slightly tropical about it. So rest assured, if i don't have the pleasure of unwrapping these for my 20th, i will be treating myself!

5. "Kimberlicious Latex Bow Garters - £26"
God i love garters. Maybe it's my obsession with thighs, but, in my opinion, attention should always be drawn to the legs. These garters come in a incredible range of colours and with the added bonus that they're latex, so they definitely won't fall down. A summer wardrobe staple, oh i do think so.

6. "Purrfect Pineapples "Baby Blue Flowers" Soft cup bra - £51.17 & Garter with basic panties - £59.50 "
I've been umming and aahing over puurfect pinapples since my loan went in. One one hand i really want to own a complete set of their absolutely adorable and completely handmade lingerie and on the other hand, i can't bring myself to shell out £130+ for something i like because it's cutesy. I keep thinking of all the other things i could buy with that money (mostly flowers and sandwiches) and wussing out. Has anyone ever purchased, or know of someone who has purchased, items and had it been worth it?

I've come with an apology and an explanation:
Recently Of Lambs and Lace has been a little dead, this is partly due to my week long holiday and my impending University exams but also because i'm stuck in a bit of a lingerie rut. At the moment i don't have my eye on any pieces that i can actually afford, so i don't have anything new to review. 
In the meantime, OLAL will still be updated with new "Save Up Sundays" and "What Lamb's Wearing Wednesdays" but in addition i am also updating older posts, with much nicer product photography, that can be revisited. So far i have updated:


I'm thinking hard about new scheduled posts to ensure that this doesn't happen regularly so if there's anything you'd like to see on OLAL or any topics you'd like me to cover then i'd love to hear your thoughts.

Tatu Couture Lili Briefs

weirdly it looks almost like the Ram's arms are my own. I assure you i haven't suddenly gained two sleeves!
I was gifted these Tatu Couture Lili Briefs as thanks for recently helping Violet's Knickers with the upcoming changes to their web store. I chose the smallest size available, a size small and before we begin it's quite obvious that these do not fit me, which is a great shame. 
Tatu Couture's pieces aim to give the allusion of inked skin, without any of the commitment, through delicately illustrated and cleverly placed nude mesh panels.


The design and construction of these briefs is impeccable. The mesh panels (even the ouvert) are practically seamless and the (almost bone like) structure of the waist would provide a perfect, comfortable fit on the right sized body. Often very decorative knickers have a tendency to be uncomfortable for everyday use, especially under everyday clothes, so i love how these feel so comfortable and like they'll stay put, no matter what, without any migration. 
The mesh panels come in one colour, and even at my most tanned (on holiday where these photos were taken) it doesn't match up to my whiter than white skin tone. However the beauty of these knickers (and all other pieces in the Tatu Couture range) make this a pretty unimportant factor, unless, of course, you really want to convince someone that you've undergone the needle.
In regards to the fit on myself: my bum may be happily secure but my waist is much too small for the very structured, quite rigid, top and i could certainly not wear these for this reason so i'm hoping to re-home them to a friend or fellow blogger that will give them the use they deserve.

What Lamb's Wearing Wednesday


The aim of this outfit was to throw on something super comfortable but summery, in preparation for my holiday abroad this weekend.

My choice of top influenced my underwear choices:
As this top is exceptionally sheer i chose to have my Topshop longline bra peeking out through the fabric and whilst i was at it i thought throwing the matching knickers on would be a good idea. Obviously, in my world, high waisted knickers call for high waisted shorts so i pulled out my favourite, extra flattering shorts, to seal the deal.

I'm re-considering the frequency of these posts (hence, in parts, why there was no WLWW last week), so do you think once a week is too much? Maybe once a fortnight or month would be better?
