Esty Lingerie Choker Strap

I was recently sent this Choker strap from Esty Lingerie's new accessories line. The idea is that they create accessories to customise your bras and knickers. These are quick solutions to add extra oomph or a bit of practicality ( see their detachable suspender straps and bra straps ).
This choker is made out of a wonderfully soft, satin elastic and is fully adjustable for all bust sizes and neck sizes. With pieces this small and delicate it's easy to assume that after a while the stitches could come undone or it could snap but these are most definitely false assumptions. The whole piece feels incredibly durable, like it could stand some serious abuse. I also worried that it would rub or feel too restricting for my daily routines but i was wrong again. I felt nothing of the sort and even forgot i was wearing it at all, getting through a whole high intensity pilates workout before remembering. The crystal skull and satin bow make perfect embellishments, appealing to my love of skeletons and are also firmly attached.
To put this choker on you slip the adjustable loop around the gore of your bra and then fasten the top strap around your neck. It's then a case of adjusting both the neck strap and the loop around your bra until you have a comfortable fit. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out (astrophysicist over here hey!) but upon first glance it did seem a little confusing. A small card with instructions or illustrations included with the choker would be welcome, so us rocket scientists know we're doing it right.
I've worn this with regular bras and longline bras and had no problems with the fit. I've also worn this over a whole day and received nothing but compliments (a business man actually pulled his car over to try and persuade me to drink at his bar, at 11am, but that's another story). I really do adore this whole concept. I'm a massive fan of the body harness, overly strappy, trend right now and i love that i can spend less and customise as many bras as i want.
I love the idea so much i've actually gone and bought another of their choker straps, this one alluringly entitled the "french maid", to add to my collection.
This choker strap pictured retails at £10.99 and can be found here.

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me free of charge to review. Trust me when i say i am the most, overly opinionated person you will ever meet so all opinions stated in this review are definitely my own.

What Lamb's Wearing Wednesday

When i dress i tend to stick with a monochrome colour scheme. There's something about monochrome, tending towards all black, that looks well put together and classy no matter how simple the outfit really is.
I have no qualms about showing my bras through a sheer shirt, in fact i think wearing another top underneath is a cop out. To keep things simple, and not detract from the spine print detail down the back, i opted for my Matalan bikini top.
The looseness of my skirt means i had no worries of vpl so full bottomed knickers were an option. These deep red Parfait knickers made the cut purely because i find something pleasant about having such a vibrant colour hidden underneath my clothes.

The Knicker Issue: May

I'm not sure if i've mentioned that once my subscription to the knicker issue ran out back in March(?) my Ram went and surprised me with another 3 months. So i've been quietly getting knickers through the post and due to my Ram subscribing in March (two pairs of knickers in one month, yes please), this is now my third and last pair.
So here are some updated thoughts about my time subscribed to The Knicker Issue.

Firstly i'd just like to start out by saying that out of the grand total of 6 pairs i received, 5 were from the brand Parfait. Now whilst i'm always happy to expand my knicker collection, especially with a brand i wouldn't usually think to buy from, it would be nice to see the Knicker Issue collaborating with more independent UK brands to add a bit of diversity.
I've also noticed that the knickers you receive seem to be randomly selected, as i received two pairs for the month of March that were very different. So if you intend to subscribe based on seeing the knickers i, or someone else has received that month you can't guarantee you will get the same pair. But every pair they've sent me has been darling so you won't be disappointed.

Now onto the knickers pictured. Made by Parfait, they're as usual beautifully crafted and damn comfortable. I really do love the richness of the red and the panel detailing. I receive a size 8, every month, but sometimes the sizing is a little off. On this particular pair the waistband elastic is not favourable towards my extra bit of hip weight (mini muffins anyone?) and the bum is a little baggy. Other than that these are a happy addition to my collection and will definitely be worn with suitable clothing (to avoid vpl).

One last comment on The Knicker Issue. I've searched google pretty thoroughly and aside from my posts, and one dating back to September 2012, there seem to be no other blog reviews. Subscription boxes are incredibly popular right now and it seems that the Knicker Issue is just not well known enough to take off. I'd highly suggest they take inspiration from companies like Glossybox and Birchbox and work with influential fashion and beauty bloggers (and no i'm not suggesting myself) to really get the brand out there. It honestly baffles me that this isn't a more popular service, as most women love knickers and surprises.
I'm sure in the future i'll be subscribing again, when the time is right, as i just cant say no to lingerie surprises.

What Lamb's Wearing Wednesday

This series, so far, hasn't been an accurate representation of what i actually wear on a daily basis. Six days out of seven i'm dressed in plain black. The seventh day is when i do my black wash and have to wear something a little more interesting, this is the day that usually gets featured. I thought this week i'd even things out and share an outfit from the six other days i wear clothes, no matter how plain it is.
Comfortable knickers, like these from Miss Selfridge, are a must when times are stressful, the only downfall is having to dig out some non tight clothing to avoid vpl, so this circle skirt is always a winner.
A lace bodysuit calls for something exciting underneath. I pretty much always pair lace with my trusty H&M lime green bikini top, to add a little pop of colour.
Such a plain outfit needs statement shoes, usually i'd wear massive heels but sometimes it's nice to be able to walk without having to avoid every crack in the pavement so these fries shoes do the trick.

Save Up Sunday

These are already in the post, on their way to me. I always lose socks so never really buy any special pairs, not to mention i spend my life in tights, but as of late i've been really angsty (and i'm no longer a teen so it's just general "my life choices are not what i expected them to be" angst). These socks are the perfect way for me to tell the world, and lots of people in it, how much they suck sometimes. An impulse purchase i won't regret (unless one goes missing in the washing machine).
This is soon to be mine too, once i manage to get my hands on a tape measure to measure my thigh and actually order it. A summer accessory i need!
I have quite a few personal mantras but this may have just joined the list. A twee phrase but one i can identify with. One day i'll have some kind of inspiration board and this little print will be up there i'm sure.
Usually underbust corsets are not my thing as I don't really have a bust to put anything under, y'see.  Having grown up in an atheist family with Jewish heritage, I've been fascinated with catholic imagery, namely for the pre-raphaelite styles and the rich colours used, so this piece is a serious lust for me.
I just think i have a cute butt and want to embellish it and make it even cuter, which ears and a bear face will do.
Are they Light Pink? Silk?
If yes to the above then they fit my criteria for being delicious and i'll take ten in my size please.
The Summer uniform for my Primary school was a red gingham dress. My entire childhood (and well into my teens) bedroom was themed around red gingham. So you can say my obsession, that rears its possibly ugly head every summer, originated from my love of those dresses and the inevitable time spent playing on our school field (grass stained knees and daisy chains galore!). This summer is no exception and i'm craving entire outfits (bralet and matching skirt please) of the fabric. I'm damn certain i had knickers just like these when i was a little girl and i kinda want them now. Just don't call me Lolita.
Does anyone still use and think hankies are hygenic? This is a particularly graphic print but i adore the softness of the tones used. On lazy days (read: most days) i like to throw my hair up in a messy sock bun and disguise it with a knotted hankie so i'd love to wear this and smut the place up.

Boux Avenue

Boux Avenue have recently opened stores all over the UK and i'm lucky enough to live in a city containing one. I had intended to go to the opening and do a big blog post but life has this awful habit of getting in the way of all my grand lingerie plans.
So anyway, 2 ish weeks after the opening i finally got around to popping into my local store and spending a little money. Firstly i'd like to say that this was the, hands down, easiest lingerie shopping experience i've had, this being completely due to their drawer system. Beneath each display is a column of drawers, all labelled externally with a back size. Inside the drawers, the bras are laid out by increasing cup size. So, essentially, within seconds i was able to determine if my size was available in any given style. Pretty damn nifty. The rest of the store is very clean, minimalist and easy to navigate around. The changing rooms are a tad too warm but i have this gripe about all UK changing rooms. One other issue i did have was the choice of music. They were playing quite frantic dance music and personally i find it off putting and unpleasant in what should be a calm place.

I immediately fell for this longline bra. It's classy, girly, delicate and best of all, i could wear it as a top if i so pleased. The material features a light blue and white cornflower print with a white mesh back and ruffle detailing. I snagged the 30C and i'm absolutely buzzing that there is finally another store, on the UK highstreet, that caters to small back sizes. I'm of the opinion this bra fits true to size as it's a perfect, snug fit for me.
Being a sucker for matching lingerie i picked up the knickers (of which unfortunately there was no choice in style) in my usual size 8. Unfortunately these knickers run large and are baggy on me. Which, considering i've definitely gained the customary birthday weight, well, there's no way my bum has gone down a size.

You can purchase the bra for £24 and the knickers for £10 from Boux Avenue's website or, if you're lucky like i am, you can pop into a store for a proper nosy.

What Lamb's Wearing Wednesday

Look Ma no pants! But seriously, the weather here has almost been resembling summer, for at least one day a week. Living in England means that when it does exceed 20 degrees (celsius my dears) our un-airconditioned buildings become sweltering. I'm stuck in the university library, a very warm and slightly smelly building, intensively revising for my upcoming exams so no pants and no bra is a necessity.

Going braless is tricky, either you have to wear thick layers or throw caution to the wind and wear something so revealing you have to dig out the tit tape.
A short skirt always calls for full bum underwear and these exceedingly comfortable, if a little juvenile, Boux Avenue knickers are perfect for not only this outfit but also for my "sitting on my bum revising Quantum physics all day" circumstances.
Also over the knee socks and big shoes because otherwise i'd look naked.
