Romwe Revisited

One of my most popular posts is of my Romwe Lion bodysuit post (which i'm hoping, once the weather clears up, to update with nicer photos). Surprisingly enough i haven't shopped at Romwe in almost a year, in fact, for a while there i forgot it even existed. So one morning, not too long ago, after having a Romwe sort of epiphany i ended up filling my online shopping cart with items from their "swimwear" section. I ended up buying two bodysuits and a bikini (but i'm still tempted by a few others). As always my package arrived way before estimated delivery and i was, yet again, pleasantly surprised with the quality of the garments. This Cloud print bodysuit is probably my favourite out of the three items i bought.

I'm pleased to say that, after my issues with the size of my last Romwe bodysuit, a size small in this is much more suited to a western bodytype (Romwe is an Asian company so sometimes it sources it's clothes from asian manufacturers which produce sizes that tend to run very small). I am 5'4 and it fits wonderfully, however there is quite a bit of stretch in the material so i can imagine it would fit, lengthwise, on much taller people.

Most graphic bodysuits follow in the footsteps of Black Milk Clothing and have a very plain silhouette. What i really fancy about this little number is the extra details that set it apart. A sweetheart neckline with sheer mesh gives the strapless illusion but without any of the faff of having to check it's not falling down all the time. And the whopping great cutout at the back accentuates the waist and gives the whole thing a little edge. The legs have a very modest cut, almost verging on a vintage feel, so there's no excessive bikini waxing necessary. The cups are padded but for modesty as opposed to providing any kind of support. The sheer amount of padding, it actually comes down to the bottom of my ribcage, leads me to believe that this would suit larger busts as well.

As per, i'll probably wear this throughout the year with something high waisted but i can also see it functioning as swimwear, if i decide to take up exercise again (not bloody likely).
You can buy this bodysuit here for £29.53 + free worldwide shipping (Romwe always has discount codes floating around if this seems too steep).

What Lamb's Wearing Wedne.....err well Friday

I really did want to do this post on time this week. But with the advent of my anniversary and losing my camera remote into the chasm that is my pre-move room things just haven't happened as planned.
The weather has been abysmal recently but oh my, is it humid! Although the skies are a putrid shade of grey and there's no sunshine whatsoever, being outside in any kind of layers makes you want to peel your skin off.
I've completely gone off wearing bras with moulded cups or padding right now so, although it doesn't give the greatest nipple coverage, I put this Topshop mesh bra under a plain tank top.
Running with my blue theme, I dug out a skirt I'd completely forgotten I had and underneath I wore this very sunny Topshop thong to perk up my mood a little (yellow underwear works wonders, I swear).
To brighten the whole outfit up some, I DIY-ed a little flower garter from a bouquet my Ram bought me. If you can't tell, I'm enamoured with flowers and have a room full of them, real and fake.

Another Esty Choker Strap

The danger with reviewing pieces from companies is that it's oft to lead to a naughty purchase. When looking up links to include in my official Esty Choker review i happened upon this "french maid" choker strap and I knew i'd found my accessory soulmate. A few clicks and a few days later we were united in what i can only hope is a lifetime of matrimony. As i've already posted a review of Esty's chokers, and delved into their purpose, this is purely an appreciation post.

Save Up Sunday

It's been a long time since i've posted a Save Up Sunday, partly because i've been exceptionally busy with University and partly because these wishlists drive me crazy with lust.
1. Free People "Floral Printed" Shorts - £58 & Sports Bra - £58
I'm really feeling the two-piece look this summer and, although this set is quite obviously meant for those who actually undertake physical activity, i'd quite like to just wear it as an outfit. Only problem is the price and the previously bad experiences i've had with buying from the Free People online store.
2. Napkin "Floral Pop" Bikini Top - £35.98
This 3D floral bikini top (and yes you can wear it in water) is perfect for those with smaller busts, like myself. Not to mention how adorable it would look worn as a top. I'm considering posting a diy for a cheaper version of this top if anyone would like to see?
3. Other Stories "Alyson Fox" Bra - £17 & Briefs - £12
I love abstract geometric prints, especially on lingerie sets with interesting cuts. If my size were available, at this moment in time, i'd probably own this.
4. ClareBare "Mio Lolita" Garter Tank - £51.02
As simple as it is, i love this garter tank, mostly for the edging. It epitomises my love of lingerie worn as outerwear.
5. Iron Fist "Lady Killer" Bikini - £37.99
I already own an Iron Fist bikini in their well known zombie print but this sugar skull style  is undoubtedly eye catching. Definitely one to put in your shopping basket if you're happy to turn a few heads this summer.

Bikini Style Top DIY

I'd love to be able to whip up my own lingerie from scratch but honestly, i consider the whole process akin to witchcraft. I have neither the skill nor patience to fiddle about with patterns and sewing machines. So here's my no nonsense, no patience required, DIY for a bikini style top.
All you will need is:
- A t-shirt, preferably oversized
- Basic sewing equipment
- Scissors
- Ten minutes of your time
To start, lay your t-shirt flat and and cut out a rectangle from the cuff of one sleeve to the other. Be extra generous with the width as it will shrink when you stretch the material lengthwise. The bigger your bust the larger the width you will need. Locate the middle of this piece of material and cut out two triangular shapes. Don't worry about jagged edges, once stretched this material rolls over on itself and effectively hides any poor cutting skills.
Pinch or concertina the material between the two triangles and pin once you get a shape you are happy with. Taking a needle and thread, sew the middle until it is gathered to a point.
Trim and lightly pull at the edges of the bandeau until you get your desired shape. I chose to round off the fabric in the middle. What used to be the sleeves of your t-shirt will now become the tie around your back. Decrease the width of these parts and stretch lightly. If you find, even when stretched, that you cannot tie the ends around your bust, attach either a ribbon or left over material from your t-shirt to these ends. An optional step is to embellish the centre of the top with old jewelry to give the garment a little dimension.
Cut a long, thin strip from your leftover material and pull at the edges until it curls. Attach both ends to the top. I chose to position mine just under my armpits to hide my poor stitching and add a little vintage feel. Once the ends have been sewn the strap will form a loop. Cut at the top, where the strap meets the back of your neck and tie together to ensure you get a decent, adjustable fit.
Et Voila!
A perfectly simple top for lounging around in the sunshine or layering under sheer tops which requires no sewing skills whatsoever.

Karolina Laskowska Limited Edition Knickers

Karolina Laskowska has been on my radar for a while, being a twitter friend and someone i admire very much. On top of being a student Karolina runs her own lingerie business making heavenly knickers, bras and harnesses. Oh and did i mention she's managed to master lingerie production in only a few years? She's currently raising funds to create her 2013 collection and had the fabulous idea to create limited edition knickers, some of which are still available here, and sell them for a highly discounted price.
I snapped these up about ten minutes after she announced they were available and i'm so glad i did. These cost £40, which is usually more than i could afford to spend on a single pair of knickers, but i worked over 20 hours that weekend and so i could spare some of my wage.
As i expected from Karolina, these arrived exceedingly fast andwrapped in such lovely tissue paper that i've saved it for my Ma (trust me she'll appreciate it).
These knickers come in one size but as the side ties are adjustable, there's a little flexibility and for me, a size 6 to 8, they fit like a dream. They're made from two contrasting pieces of lace, one very cluttered and the other quite minimalist, and edged with a lace trim. The elastic around the legs isn't restricting at all so they're very comfortable. My favourite part of these knickers, albeit the most impractical part, is the fluff on the ends of the side ties. I say fluff as these aren't quite puffs or pom poms. They're made from what seems to be a loop of furry ribbon, hence fluff. It's very glamourous and playful details like this that i always fall for; hook, line and sinker.
Overall i'm beyond pleased with these knickers and i have no buyers remorse whatsoever. Not only do i get to own a very unique piece of lingerie, i was also able to support one of my favourite independent designers.
If you'd like to support Karolina Laskowska and help fund her 2013 collection you can here, where your donation will also earn you a little thank you in return.

What Lamb's Wearing Wednesday

There are some days where i put comfort (and an extra long lie in) before style and head out the door wearing something akin to bed wear. To combat the general disheveled look that comes from this kind of lazy comfort seeking i always throw on a pair of large, structural heels (Most popular for this purpose, right now, are my Jeffrey Campbell Fredas). And yes, it's a technique that works, it kind of disguises the sheer lack of effort put into the outfit.
I've had these Jack Wills Briefs for eons (i can hardly believe the price, my naive 14 year old self paid for them) and they're the most unflattering knickers for my body type. Their only saving grace is how incredibly comfortable they truly are and perfect for my lazy days.
This XL mens shirt is perfect for going from bed, to uni, and then back to bed again but requires a properly fitting bra. I'm a sucker for a seamless look underneath t-shirts so i picked out this well worn M&S plunge bra.
And to top it all off, i threw on a ridiculously comfy knitted hat to hide my bed hair because some mornings brushing my hair seems like a mammoth task (note to readers: never grow your hair longer than past your waist, you'll never get the knots out!).
